Job Summary
The Executive – First Mile will be responsible for managing and monitoring retail vehicle operations to ensure timely loading, dispatch, and movement of products from the distribution center. The role requires strong coordination with drivers, transport vendors, and internal teams to achieve 100% order fulfillment while maintaining high operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Vehicle Operations & Dispatch Management
- Manage end-to-end first-mile vehicle operations for retail distribution.
- Ensure vehicles are loaded and dispatched as per planned schedules.
- Monitor vehicle readiness and availability for daily operations.
- Coordinate with drivers and transport vendors for smooth vehicle movement.
Loading & Fulfillment
- Ensure accurate stock loading as per approved indent quantities.
- Verify loading accuracy to prevent shortages, excesses, or dispatch errors.
- Achieve 100% fulfillment of planned deliveries without delays.
Tracking & Issue Resolution
- Track vehicle movements and monitor dispatch timelines.
- Identify delays and take immediate corrective actions to minimize disruptions.
- Resolve operational and vehicle-related issues during loading and dispatch.
- Follow up on vehicle arrivals and delivery completion status.
Reporting & Coordination
- Maintain accurate dispatch records and operational reports.
- Share daily updates on vehicle utilization, delays, and fulfillment performance.
- Coordinate with warehouse, planning, and transportation teams for smooth execution.
- Escalate critical operational issues promptly to management for resolution.
Compliance & Process Adherence
- Ensure adherence to company SOPs and operational guidelines.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance fleet and dispatch efficiency.
- Maintain high standards of safety, discipline, and operational excellence.
Desired Candidate Profile
Qualifications
- Graduate in any discipline.
- Diploma or certification in Logistics/Supply Chain Management will be an added advantage.
Experience
- 1–4 years of experience in logistics, transportation, fleet operations, dispatch management, or supply chain operations.
- Experience in FMCG, dairy, retail distribution, or e-commerce logistics is preferred.
Skills Required
- Strong coordination and communication skills.
- Ability to handle multiple operational activities simultaneously.
- Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and operational reporting.
- Knowledge of vehicle dispatch, transportation, and fulfillment processes.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced operational environment.
