Role Overview
As the Backend Lead Engineer at our Dairy organization, you will be the driving force behind the technology that powers our farm-to-table journey. You will balance hands-on backend coding (Python/FastAPI) with the practical integration of our ERPNext (Frappe) ecosystem to manage complex dairy operations—from milk procurement and processing to cold chain logistics and last mile delivery. We are looking for a backend-heavy lead who can ensure our systems are as fresh and reliable as our products.

Key Responsibilities

Dairy Systems Development: Lead the implementation of core features for procurement, production, and distribution using Python and FastAPI.
ERP Customization: Drive the technical execution of ERPNext (Frappe) to handle dairy specific workflows like batch tracking, fat/SNF calculations, and inventory perishability.
• Data Flow Management: Build and maintain messaging workflows using Kafka and AWS SQS to synchronize real-time data from collection centers to the central warehouse.
• Deployment & Support: Own production deployments on AWS and ensure 24/7 operational stability for our time-sensitive dairy supply chain.
• Engineering Leadership: Conduct code reviews, enforce standards, and mentor the team to build resilient systems that can handle the high-velocity nature of the dairy business.
• Fullstack Oversight: Manage end-to-end feature delivery, ensuring seamless data flow between the backend logic and the field apps used by our logistics and sales teams.

Technical Requirements
• 4–7 years of professional software engineering experience(Hands On experience).
• Backend Mastery: Expert-level coding skills in Python and FastAPI.
• ERP Expertise: Direct, hands-on experience customizing ERPNext / Frappe framework.
• Messaging & Databases: Practical experience with Kafka, AWS SQS, and PostgreSQL/ MySQL.
• Cloud Operations: Strong experience managing services on AWS (ECS, RDS, S3, Cloud Watch).
• API Delivery: Deep experience building and consuming RESTful APIs with complex data contracts.

• Frontend Skills: Experience with React.js, Next.js, Tailwind CSS, and state management.
• Domain Knowledge: Previous experience in Supply Chain, Agritech, or FMCG sectors.
• Cloud Platforms: Working knowledge of GCP services (BigQuery, GCS, Pub/Sub).
• DevOps: Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Monitoring: Experience setting up observability tools for high-uptime environments

Leadership & Culture
• Lead by Example: You are a versatile coder who understands that in the dairy industry, system downtime means product wastage. You solve issues with urgency.
• Operational Ownership: You take responsibility for the stability of the product, ensuring the tech stack supports the physical movement of goods.
• Mentorship: You enjoy coaching engineers to think about real-world impact and physical supply chain constraints.
• Execution-Focused: You prioritize shipping high-quality, functional code that meets the rigorous demands of a 6-day operational week.

Qualification
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• Prior experience as a Senior Engineer or Team Lead is mandatory.
