Job Overview
The Farmer Extension Officer – Dairy works for the benefit and success of dairy farmers under the Farmer Success Program. The role focuses on identifying farmer challenges, enabling access to the right support, and driving on-ground initiatives that improve productivity, milk quality, and sustainability. This is a field-based role dedicated to farmer success.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders including veterinary, procurement, quality, operations, and service teams to ensure seamless and timely support for farmers.
- Act as the primary farmer representative and point of contact, ensuring farmer needs and challenges are clearly understood and addressed.
- Identify on-ground issues related to animal health, milk yield, feed, and farm management, and enable practical solutions.
- Drive implementation and execution of initiatives under the Farmer Success Program to improve farmer outcomes.
- Educate and guide farmers through field interactions, demonstrations, and advisory support focused on dairy best practices.
- Ensure timely follow-ups and resolution of farmer issues through coordination with relevant teams.
- Maintain accurate records of farmer engagement, interventions, and outcomes, and submit regular reports to the Services Head.
- Build strong, trust-based relationships with farming communities while working independently in rural field conditions.
Qualifications & Skills
- Any Graduation (Agriculture/Dairy/Animal Husbandry preferred)
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the dairy industry in a farmer-facing or field-based role
- Good understanding of dairy farming practices, animal health, feed management, and milk quality
- Ability to identify farm-level issues and provide practical, farmer-friendly solutions
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with cultural sensitivity
- Team player with the ability to collaborate with internal stakeholders
- Comfortable working independently in rural environments
- Willingness to travel extensively and work outdoors
